Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the Distinguished Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is well-known for starting modern scientific studies of the memory of children as eyewitnesses and the use of child victims in court settings. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded several grants and was awarded numerous international and national awards. She has been a consultant to numerous organizations and government officials across the world on policies as well as research on children who are victims of the justice system. She acts as an expert consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 57). Professor Goodman is a member of Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family policy and practice.
